Play Therapist

Experienced play therapist to work with looked after children and young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications, plus attractive benefits package.
Due to our ongoing success and expansion we have created additional additional therapy posts within our in-house clinical team. We are seeking to recruit an experienced creative therapist to work with young people (12-18 years), and expand our range to include Play Therapy and Art Therapy.
Bryn Melyn Care provides specialist resiential care for looked after young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours. Integrated therapeutic care for young people is at the heart of Bryn Melyn Care's philosophy.
Our in-house clinical service currently comprises practitioners from forensic psychology and psychotherapy backgrounds carrying out direct therapeutic work with young people and working in a consultative capacity with other staff as part of a team. There are opportunities to deliver training and contribute in other ways to the development of therapeutic practice within the organisation.
We currently provide a range of psychological therapies and psychotherapies. We see each young person as a "universe of one" and our therapeutic approach is eclectic, endeavouring to match therapietic skills to need by drawing on a variety of approaches.
The successful candidate will bring therapeutic skills and training necessary for working with attachment difficulties and early trauma, and in addition may have experinece in working with young people with mental health issues and/or offending behaviour.
Appliants should have a recognised postgraduate qualification in psychotherapy and should be accredited with a recognised body (e.g. BACP, UKCP or BABCP).
You will work well as part of a nulti-disciplinary team and be committed to integrated therapeutic care.
The clinical service is committed to delivering a high quality and dynamic service that is responsive and integrated.
The post will be based in Whitchurch and will work across two clinical sites, Whitchurch and Telford. There is an expectation of travel as part of the role. It is a full-time position but we will consider employment on a part-time basis.
