Partnership & Commissioning

Effective partnership is about being clear who is responsible for what and then maintaining transparent accountability

Understanding the Challenges

Having been operating specialist services for almost quarter of a century, we have lived through the changes and developments within the social care sector.  We understand that for Local Authorities across the UK, responding to changing Governments agenda, developing strategy in response whilst still responding to local need can present real challenges.

No two Authorities are the same, geography, demographics and economics are just a few of the factors that make strategic planning unique to each area. These factors are especially important when planning to meet the needs of your young people with multiple and more complex needs. The level of demand and frequency can be unpredictable. This makes planned and stable placements, with clear outcomes hard to achieve or maintain.

Working in Partnership

Bryn Melyn Care is working in partnership with several Local Authorities to develop innovative solutions that bring these specialized services into new areas across the country. On a commissioned basis, bespoke services can be built based on the local needs of one or several Authorities. These services have the benefit of providing our fully integrated model of therapeutic care, education and clinical services whilst also being able to work in a joined up way with local agencies and departments.

Our work in this area is being shared with the Department for Children, Schools and Families who are interested in this being piloted as a good practice model. We are also a “road testing organization” for the National Contract for Residential Childcare and use this framework wherever possible.

If you have strategic and/or senior operational responsibility for the development of childrens services in your area, talk to us about the challenges you are facing – we’re here to help.
