Waking Nights Support Worker
Residential Specialist (Children and Young People with Behavioural/Learning Difficulties)
Salary: £8.21 – £8.93 + Generous over time rates
Bryn Melyn Care is developing services in care and education for children and young people with a range of learning difficulties. In Oswestry, we have recently opened a Residential School for up to 33 children and young people aged 8 – 18 years old with learning difficulties, complex and challenging behaviours with associated diagnosis such as ADHD, ADD, OCD.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Waking Night Support Worker to join the team and to support our residents overnight. Ideally we require individuals who have experience of working with children and young people with Learning Difficulties and associated challenges, although this isn't essential as training will be provided.
This role is a permanent night time role, working 12 hour shifts to provide overnight care and support for our residents. We offer flexible shift patterns (full and part time), which run over 7 days. A full time role, equates to 6 – 7 shifts per fortnight. The rota will be maintained in advance. Flexibility to travel and work shifts across multiple sites may be required.
You do not have to be qualified to apply for this role, as we will provide you with all the skills and training you require to be successful. However after the 6 month probation, you will be expected to commence studying towards a Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare.
If you join us with a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or Residential Childcare, you will receive a huge £1000 welcome bonus. You will receive £250 after the completion of induction, £250 once you have passed your probationary period and the remaining £500 on your 12 month anniversary.
