How therapy works at Bryn Melyn Care
Most of our young people have been exposed to situations that have led them to rely on difficult and challenging behaviour simply in order to survive.
Clinicians offer weekly team consultation to care staff. We believe that it is through relationships with therapeutic carers that change happens.
In many cases young people also require direct therapy with an experienced member of the clinical team. If and when appropriate young people usually attend one clinical session a week, during which our therapists work with them to help resolve past traumas and understand how these experiences have influenced who they are today.
They also work with care teams and the young person to monitor and reduce the level of harm young people cause to themselves and others and help them build positive strategies for managing and enjoying their lives.
Contact our Clinical Lead on 01952 504 715 to talk about your young person’s therapeutic treatment needs.
